The continent of man, and the land upon which this story takes place. Enzi is overall a matriarchal society ruled over by a God-queen known as Imra.
The Barazas
A theocratic patriarchal system built to manage and restrict the usage of magic solely to those chosen as Mizhar. Each ruled by a Sheikh, toting themselves as "Consorts to Lady Order." With each Baraza representing a different facet of that order.
The Kingdoms of Enzi
Each ruled by a queen within. They each have their own goals, and as times gone on and Imra's promises of order and prosperity aren't fulfilled their restlessness grows evermore apparent as they begin to question the frailty of the constitution they must follow.
Stylistically Enzi has 4 major inspirations
Representing the order promised. Those of nobility live in cities of straight lines, powered by technology they never see the cost of. But it was order promised, not achieved. The people within these cities strive to feel fulfilled, to feel human, all while the constant consumption around them instead tells them the sweet lie that they are something greater.
Representing the extravaganza of royalty, and the wonders of the Mizhar. Where average nobility are drowned in their cities the monarchs reside in optulent manors, and the Mizhar walk halls that serve to remind themselves of their excellence.
Representing those who live, work, and die beneath the cities of those blessed up above are forced to live in an iron hellscape of crime and labor all while praying to the same god that endorses their exploitation. The people within are those who keep these spires of steel and light afloat with their blood, sweat, and tears.
Representing those outside of it all, villages and homes built not to play at being something beyond the natural order, but to show humans innate relationship within it.
And the largest overarching inspiration are the varied cultures of Africa as well as the Middle East. Cultures that as a whole are an incredibly untouched area of inspiration when it comes to fantasy.
